Made for Compass, not for tracking.
BetterCompass runs only on Compass Education and Compass School websites. It reads information already displayed in your signed-in session so it can improve your timetable, tasks, notices, dashboard, and reminders.
BetterCompass does not collect your Compass password, read unrelated websites or browsing history, use advertising or behavioural analytics, or send Compass information to a BetterCompass server.

03 / Permissions
Access kept to the feature set.
BetterCompass uses browser storage to save local settings and information, and uses extended local storage capacity for optional wallpaper files and locally cached Compass data. It uses alarms to check whether an optional class reminder is due and notifications to show that reminder.
Its site access is limited to *.compass.education and *.compass.school. It does not have permission to run on unrelated websites.
04 / Your choices
Change it, export it, or remove it.
- Turn BetterCompass features and next-class notifications on or off from its settings.
- Change or remove your saved school address, appearance settings, personal tasks, notes, focus history, and grade estimates from the extension.
- Export or import your local setup from BetterCompass settings.
- Uninstall BetterCompass to remove its browser-managed local storage.
05 / Service providers
No BetterCompass data service.
BetterCompass does not send your information to a BetterCompass service, analytics provider, advertising network, or data broker. If you choose a wallpaper hosted on another website, your browser requests it directly from that website; its own privacy practices apply.
Netlify
Hosts the Synodic Hub website. This site does not add analytics or advertising cookies, although Netlify may process ordinary network and security logs as the hosting provider. Read Netlify’s privacy statement.
06 / Security
Limited access by design.
BetterCompass is restricted to Compass Education domains and stores its local data through browser-managed extension storage. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but keeping this information off a BetterCompass server reduces the information we hold about you.
We will update this policy at this address if BetterCompass data practices change materially.
